My Why
Janice was raised by a family that believed deeply in education as the path to opportunity. Her own trajectory was shaped by a teacher who recognized her potential and helped her family navigate an unfamiliar system, which revealed to her the power of strong school–family partnerships to change outcomes. That early lesson continues to drive Janice’s work—she is motivated by the belief that every child deserves access to educators who see their full potential and systems that empower families and schools to work together to realize it.
What Brings Me Joy
Outside of work, Janice is an avid theater-goer who loves exploring new languages, traveling, and learning about other cultures. She also enjoys singing with her husband and son—especially during their family road trips.
