About Natalie

Natalie Gordon is a Chief Schools Officer at Attuned Education Partners, where she facilitates professional learning cohorts for principal supervisors and district office leaders. She coaches district leaders on how to build their capacity to lead instructional and strategic planning initiatives for their teams. Natalie has driven extensive success within the leadership teams she has coached, including helping select leaders go on to become superintendents of their districts. In one of her most longstanding partnerships, Natalie supported a large urban New England school district with launching a school design cohort focused on supporting leaders in re-designing and launching school programs aligned to the district’s Portrait of a Graduate and aimed at improving student outcomes.

Career Summary

Prior to joining Attuned, Natalie served as an Instructional Superintendent in DC Public Schools supervising 12 middle schools. During Natalie’s tenure as Instructional Superintendent, schools in her network achieved double-digit increases in proficiency on state assessments in ELA and math. Her school leadership experience includes founding both Friendship Tech Prep, a charter school, as well as Jefferson Middle School Academy, a district-run school in DCPS. Natalie also served as both assistant principal and principal of DC Prep’s Edgewood Campus. The schools Natalie led achieved significant increases in state assessment scores and school climate metrics. Prior to becoming a school leader, Natalie worked for Teach for America as a corps member advisor, summer institute faculty director, and regional recruiter.

My Why

Natalie truly loved school as a child, and was fortunate to benefit from excellent teachers and an exemplary public school education. Her desire is for all Black and brown children to experience that same love for school, and that drives everything she does at Attuned.

What Brings Me Joy

Natalie is an avid traveler and can often be found at a national (or international) Caribbean carnival. She also enjoys fitness, spending time with family and friends, and she sits on the boards of a school and a scholarship foundation.
