About Priya

Priya Shankar is a Strategy Director at Attuned Education Partners, where she primarily partners with PK–12 system leaders to co-create strategic plans that drive improvements in student outcomes. She supports leaders through rigorous analysis, facilitation, and progress monitoring, as she helps them identify gaps, clarify direction, and translate complex strategies into clear, compelling narratives that build alignment and momentum. At Attuned, Priya has guided district and system leaders through strategic planning, progress monitoring, and visioning processes that sharpen focus, align stakeholders, and accelerate impact. Specifically, Priya has played a key role in the Louisiana Department of Education’s Strong School Systems Initiative, which has helped the state achieve the highest post-COVID academic growth in the nation. Her work ensures that leaders have the data-driven insights and practical tools they need to deliver on their vision for students and communities.

Career Summary

Before joining Attuned, Priya was a Management Consultant at UPD Consulting, where she supported education organizations with strategy, change management, and community engagement. She also served as a Research Specialist at Character Lab, leading studies and designing interventions to integrate learning science into schools, and as a Research Assistant at the Brookings Institution, where she co-authored reports shaping global education policy and conducted large-scale analyses of interventions for low-income communities.

Education, Awards & Fellowships

Priya holds a Master of Public Policy from Duke University and dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, with a B.B.A. in Business Honors and a B.A. in Plan II Honors.

Priya is driven by a deep belief in the power of public education to expand opportunity. Having seen both the potential of schools and the persistent barriers faced by historically under-resourced communities, she is committed to advancing equity and working alongside leaders to design systems that give every student the chance to thrive.

What Brings Me Joy

A proud Austin native, Priya enjoys exploring the greenbelt, cooking, and spending time with her partner, her family, and her two nieces.
