About Tess

Tess is the Software Operations Manager at Attuned, where she supports partners with their use of Attuned's software and ensures the tool is fitting their organizational needs. She helps partners analyze their academic data and supports them in planning their next steps towards success. Tess' work extends beyond just supporting educators in their use of Attuned's software. The greater, more long-lasting impact comes from the actual understanding of the data, analyzing the outcomes and showing school leaders what is going on in their schools and where they should focus their attention. By sharing this information in discussions grounded in data, leaders can have a much clearer path to supporting their staff and affecting student achievement.

Career Summary

Prior to Attuned, Tess worked as the Director of Customer Support at a childcare management software company. Tess supported hundreds of childcare and preschool teachers in using the software, along with supporting parents who were using the technology. Before that, Tess worked at a charter school as a Special Education Manager and spent some time at their central office optimizing processes to better obtain special education services for students in need. Before that, Tess worked as a science teacher at the Prospect Park Zoo, creating science curricula and teaching classes for students of all ages.

Education, Awards & Fellowships

Tess received her B.S. in Environmental Science and graduated Cum Laude from Cornell University.

My Why

Both of Tess’s parents were New York City school teachers for over 20 years, and she has seen firsthand the impact they had on their community. Her father was a high school director and history teacher at an alternative high school, and her mother was an elementary school teacher at an inclusion school, where 60% of every classroom was general education students and 40% was special education students. Tess attended that same school, which laid the foundation for her passion in working with students of all backgrounds and all academic needs to support their learning and academic growth.

What Brings Me Joy

Tess has a soon-to-be two year old son who keeps her busy constantly! When she is not chasing after her son, she loves cooking, New York sports, and spending time people-watching in the city.
